Short bio
Stefanie Strulik studied Sociology and Social Anthropology at the University of Bielefeld specializing in Development Studies at the Sociology of Development Research Centre, University of Edinburgh. She started teaching Social Anthropology at the University of Bielefeld in 2001. Since 2005 she has been working at the University of Zurich. During more than four years of fieldwork Stefanie Strulik worked on different research projects ranging from Child Labour to Women in the Hindu Right. Her Ph.D. project focused on gender and the local state and her most recent research project concerns the Muslim middle class and competing narratives of modernity.
